How long will my flags last?
The flags will last for months at a time. Conditions they are flown in will determine how long they will last.
The flags are made from coloured fabric which contains dyes. When flown outside, flags are exposed to elements which react against dyes and material. For example:
Ultraviolet light from the Sun
Heat from the Sun
Washing including Rain
Rubbing - whipping from the Wind
Chemicals such as smoke, exhaust fumes etc.
Due to these factors all flags will be subject to fading and deterioration.
At Yarra Valley Flags we are always seeking to improve on our materials
and generally excellent results can be expected. Some dyes and colours perform better than others.
Australia has a high U.V. light level and the more your flags are exposed to the elements the quicker they wear.
We recommend if your area experiences storm conditions or gale force winds that you bring your flags inside.
